Irini N Kolaitis

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Kolaitis serves as the Associate Division Head of Hospital-Based Medicine.  She is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She participates actively in hospital initiatives pertaining to throughput, capacity, in-patient care models, and patient safety. Her additional research interests include clinical medical ethics, with an emphasis on conflict resolution, error disclosure, and informed consent.

Shelly Vaziri Flais

Clinical Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Community Based Primary Care)

Dr. Flais engages in clinical care of pediatric patients in the outpatient setting, medical student and graduate medical education, and authoring/editing parenting book titles with the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Rachel S Bercovitz

Professor, Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. Bercovitz is fellowship trained in Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant, and Transfusion Medicine.

Stephanie F Chandler

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

I am a clinical electrophysiologist with specific interest both in interventional EP studies and implantation and management of devices. In my clinical practice, we care for patients with all sorts of heart rhythm abnormalities from SVT and other forms of tachycardia to conduction disorders and AV block. In addition to advanced training in interventional electrophysiology, I also have advanced training in inherited heart disease and a particular interest in cardiovascular genetics so a significant proportion of my clinic population includes patients with CPVT, Long QT, Brugada and family histo...

Jennifer L Trainor

Professor, Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine), Medical Education

Dr. Trainor is Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Education at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in the Division of Emergency Medicine. She is Associate Chair for Education in the Department of Pediatrics and oversees activities across the educational spectrum from medical student to residency and fellowship programs within the Department of Pediatrics. Gregory B Waypa

Research Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neonatology)

Gregory B. Waypa, Ph.D. received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering Sciences from the University of California, San Diego in 1991. He then enrolled as a graduate student at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, where, under Fred L. Minnear, Ph.D., he studied increased pulmonary vascular permeability associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and explored the possibility of using cAMP-enhancing agents as a possible therapy for the disease. Dr. Waypa received his M.S., and later his Ph.D., in Physiology and Cell Biology from Albany Medical College in 1997 and 1998, respectively....

Kyle L MacQuarrie

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. MacQuarrie is a physician-scientist who specializes in pediatric solid tumors. He is involved both with the care of children with such tumors, as well as basic scientific studies relevant to understanding tumor biology.

Joanna S Blackburn

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy), Medical Education

Joanna Blackburn, MD received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, completed her pediatrics residency at NYU and her child neurology residency at Northwestern University/Children's Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago). She then completed a fellowship in pediatric movement disorders at University of Rochester. She joined the faculty at Northwestern University/Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2012. Additionally she has been the program director for the child neurology residency training program since 2013.

Giselle Rodriguez

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Rodriguez is a pediatrician in the Hospital-Based Medicine Division of the Pediatrics Department at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Her clinical and academic interests include general pediatric patient care in the inpatient setting, quality improvement, medical education, and advocacy.

Philip T Thrush

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

My primary clinical interests include pediatric cardiomyopathy (including cardiomyopathy associated with neuromuscular disorders), heart failure and heart transplantation. My primary research interests focus on heart transplant related complications, especially antibody-mediated rejection and cardiac allograft vasculopathy, as well as pediatric heart failure.
